Why is it that the Steam version of EVE requires a 9 GB download and the CCP installer requires half that!

Do Steam even compress the game files? Am I downloading an older version of EVE from CCP and would have to download another 4 GB after?

Whats going on here?

On steam you are downloading "EVE Incarna", after that download you download the 4Gb crucible patch from CCP. CCP should update the steam version, it is indeed annoying.
