To the devs

I took the time to register on the steam forums to make this post. I don't usually post in forums like this as most topics are covered. I have to say I have been quite the cynic lately when it comes to PC games, there really hasn't been anything good in a LONG while. Sure there are games I enjoy that I have played, but nothing with the quality of Alan Wake. I can see the time put into this game, and the time put into making it work on the PC. I have a lot of respect for your company now and want to say that I truly appreciate your efforts! You have re-inspired my hope in this dying industry!

Thank you!

(dying industry my bottom, but nvm; )

Hear, hear. Much appreciated that it came to PC after all. Quite appreciated the story-telling in the Max Payne games, and now in this one. Sincerely hope you guys continue developing for PC.

PC gaming isn't dying. Console ports just tend to blow. I do have great respect and appreciation for Remedy for going the extra mile to truly develop this game for PC instead of just doing another shoddy R*-style port.

As soon as I read this, I had a flash back to the Kung Fu Panda 2 commercial.

"This could be the end of Kung Fu."
"But I just got Kung Fu!"

Do any of you remember the days when games like starcraft would come out? Diablo? I remember so many quality games, that had quite a market to compete. The key word here is quality.. BF3 / MW3, all the same shi*t with a different label, and console ports (I won't go into the age of tech here). It has turned into a money grab for large corporations churning out mind numbing useless software.

Anyways, I digress. I didn't intend to create a troll. The purpose of this thread was to say thank you and not spawn a conversation about the death of the PC gaming industry.

Yes, there is a lot of crap. Just like back then. Trick is to buy the good stuff.

Modern market is far more viable for independant developers thanks to digital distribution and there's been a resurgence of sims lately.

Don't buy into the hype and baloney articles.

Last year was the best year in ages for PC gaming. I had to pick from 15 games for my top 10 of the year. I only managed 3 the year before.

And from your examples Diablo 3 is out Q2

Great game and a great dev, but PC gaming is more popular and profitable than any time ever in history.

This is quite possibly the biggest year in PC gaming of the last ten years, and Alan Wake is an extremely powerful start to it. The only thing that could make this year better, would be if Silent Hill: Downpour were to come to PC.

Quantity != quality... read my posts again.. My gripe is with the quality of games lately (with a few exceptions of course).
