Wolfenstein crashes on startup.

Forgive me if this same issue was posted at a earlier time but I cannot successfully start Wolfenstein Single player. It crashes to the desktop as soon as it launches and gives me this error "Wolfenstein SP Final has stopped working" Can someone tell me how to correct this please. I have almost 400 games on steam alone and every game I have runs flawlessly. I'm positive it's not an issue with my hardware and it's most definately on the software side. Thanks in advance for your help...

Same to me. Can´t run ´cause screen goes dark right in the beginning. Got to alt+ctrl+supr, then appears this message in console: Error during initialization: The Game DLL does not have the same Build version!!!
I checked the cache files but that´s ok.

Runs in AMD Athlon II X4 3.00 GHz, 4GB RAM & HD5670 on WIN7 Ultimate, all my steam games runs perfectly except this.

Got a solution. It´s a language issue. Just go to your directory of games in the steam client and select preferences on Wolfenstein, then check language options and select english. It works. And don´t worry if you got the game for another region, you should play in your language anyway.

Unfortunately that wasn't the issue for me. My preference was already on English and restarting it didn't do the trick. Can you tell me if the steam version is running 1.1? When the error pops up windows tries to direct me to the activision website to download latest patch but it's a dead link. The funny thing is I had Wolfenstein on DVDRom and it always played well. I uninstalled it over a year ago and bought it again today because of the sale. I like to have all my games in my steam account and do away with disks forever! I also bought Alan Wake tonight and I'm running that on high and it's playing flawlessly! Go figure...

Yup just bought Wolfenstein as well and the game crashes every time on startup with the message.

Wolfe2.exe - Application Error

This application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000005). Click OK to close the application.

I am stumped.

OK I can load up Multiplayer just fine but as soon as I try to play single it gives me that error message... and I can't find any fixes online... anyone help?

Hi all
the same here. Bought the game yesterday. First, it didn't start. I always got the error below. Then I tried to change the language (from eng. to other language and back, nothing happened. Later in the night, I tried to start it and it worked fine for about half a day. After restarting the PC (Core 2 Duo E6850, 3GH - Geforce GT 240)the whole crashing is there again.

Btw how can I attach screen shots in this forum
