Thumbs up Max Payne + Something Better than Resident Evil = This game

I only ever judge a game by how long it hooks me. Hell Skyrim didn't manage that, even with the quasi-hype I had.

Gorgeous graphics, dynamic animations, interesting light reticule mechanic, and the radio and TV optional bits remind of Max Payne 2, especially with subtitles on (resembles that game).

Oh and the story is gripping of course, that also hasn't happened to me with most games released in 2011.

Remedy obviously put a lot of work into this game, even the vehicle sections which are short and almost non-existent are done well. If there is an Alan Wake 2, I'll be surprised if it manages to retain the attention to detail amongst other great stuff.

Oh and Dead space can suck it

i just hope the game sells really well on pc so that remedy will be allowed to release their future games on pc as a simultaneous release :\,

if this game was released on pc along with the xbox version i think it would've made a bigger impact than it did its clearly Alot better on pc ....but what isnt ?

It seems to be selling pretty well so far, top seller for two days straight. Considering MW3 is on sale and has free weekend I'd say that's good going. Hopefully it keeps selling well for weeks.

Started playing it last night. Lights off, surround sound headset on. I REALLY like the storytelling in this game a whole lot. It's genuinely frightening as opposed to resorting to just making you jump all the time. It's the same thing I liked about the first Silent Hill game. In fact, like Silent hill, you have a very limited supply of resources including batteries and ammo so that just adds to the tension because the threats are more real.

Anyway, finished the first episode and am mostly through the second (had to call it quits when I couldn't find my way through the large forest but I'll hopefully manage).
