People with Clan Tags...

You know... The people with names like "[RANDOM CLAN TAG]agenericnamewithcharactermaps"

What are your impressions on these types of people?

So long as they're actually in the clan in question and aren't being all elitist about it, it's just them showing dedication/advertisement for their group, which is fine by me. However, if it's 5 guys all with the same tag in the same server that they have no affiliation with, then I'm leaving.

Doesn't matter to me. Clans can be fun at times, although I haven't been in one in years.

Did I just hop into a time machine? I've been a member of different clans and communities for over a decade now, and through them have met countless friends both online and in real life.

I'm more confused by people that avoid them.

One or two is fine; when there's 4 or more and they're on the same team and none of them join the opposite team, I leave the server, since they're just pubstomping.

I believe this game doesn't really need clan tags. I mean, what are steam groups for?

(Though I'd like to make note that in any game that gives you a clan tag option, I always write Derp.)

It's really only useful for matches in UGC highlander. I'm too lazy to remove my tag though so I just leave it on.

As long as they are IN a clan, and not being pricks about it I'm fine.

Janobi has a clan tag and he's a cool guy, if you need an example.

Also, sometimes when there's 5-6 people on one team with the same clan tag it doesn't always mean it's a pubstomp in progress. Ask anyone who's seen us stack a team playing all GRU heavy and you'll see what I mean.

Imo that's fine as long as they aren't on the same team. Today I fought 3 of those, but 2 went heavy and 1 went medic and this doesn't include the rest of their teams heavy medic pairs. My team imploded.
