[Resolved] Far Cry 2: Dart rifle shoots rockets?

On "mission 1", where you are supposed to destroy gear in the southern desert,
I fired my first shot using the dart rifle,
only to discover that its shots are not nearly silent.
Apparently, the one I bought fires rockets.

There is a visible explosion. It sets the grass on fire.
And there is a huge bang, so that I am instantly discovered and swarmed.
The rifle looks like the dart rifle.
It shows 1+3 darts in the ammo corner.

I have bought both the ammo and the reliability upgrade for the dart rifle.
An RPG-7 rocket launcher should be in the special crate
that I bought, I put it there once I had bought the dart rifle.
However, I did not "buy" the rocket launcher.

I have already validated the game files, they seem to be OK.

What's wrong there?

Okay, I don't get it. When you buy a special weapon crate nothing should be inside at first. If you put the RPG launcher in the crate then you had to have bought it. It seems to me that you mistakenly took the RPG launcher instead of the dart rifle. I can't see any other explanation.

Sounds like you are mistaking the Dart Rifle with the Explosive Crossbow. Do you have the Fortunes DLC? Is there a special chest in the middle of the Room where all the weapons are? As far as I know there is no possible way to unlock the Dart Rifle if you havent done a single mission so id say ,the weapon that youre using is the crosbow from the DLC.

All, thanks for your replies. Yes, I mistook that crossbow for the dart rifle. Now I've got the real dart rifle.

Yes, the crates are empty at first. No, I got the RPG-7 via some mission that I do not remember (it was almost a year ago).

Explosive crossbow? Never heard of. Duh, that's it, as bobsbarricades' links make clear to me. Yes, I have the DLC and yes, the crossbow is from that "specials" chest.

Well, that may be true, however this was not my situation. I did finish tutorial and some side missions, in particular the weapons dealers' missions (which probably unlocked the dart rifle), and then bought the dart rifle. Some walkthroughs list the mission as the first one in "Act 1", that's what I meant by "mission 1".

The images in the shop computer show only the guns' profiles,
I thougt that "dart rifle" was just another name for the crossbow.
