I repaired the thing, but it did not solve the issue :S

Can you both please search for and run regedit.exe and then navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/manic/ and delete the critical mass folder. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. Thanks for your patience.

Now the game starts but it just says "Logging in" for a long time, then Unable to connect, must connect successfully before offline mode is enabled. So I can't play.

I tried restarting Steam and I don't have a firewall going.
