good find! I'll have to look into this when I have time. That samsung galaxy note or a tablet is looking pretty good right now! Dunno if I could stand a game like this on a 4.3 inch screen lol.

Though it'd be incredibly frustrating for me to play on my phone, this would be pretty neat on a tablet. The turn-based combat of most of the Infinity Engine's games would lend itself to not being too stressful on the player.

Yeah, I've got a Motorola Xoom tablet with a 1280x800 resolution screen, so I'm pretty excited to get this working.

Figured it out!

Basically, follow these instructions (found here)

When you get to the yellow step, refer to my notes below.

Installation instructions:
1. Install apk and run. GemRB will install some data files to you device and close.
2. Open directory app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb on SD card with any file manager and rename file GemRB.cfg.sample to GemRB.cfg.
3. Install original game to PC (full installation needed!).
4. Copy all folders and files(except *.exe) from game folder on your PC to app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb folder on your device SD card.
5. Edit GemRB.cfg in text editor to configure GemRB (instructions inside file).
6. Start GemRB and configure controls if needed.

So basically, install the app on your android device. Install Baldur's Gate (or other) on your PC. Then copy all those files over to the directory of the app (not the main Baldur's Gate file, but all the files in that file). Then create a new notepad document called GemRB.cfg and copy the sample cfg into that one. Make the changes bellow, and you should be good to go. The hardest part about this is figuring out a good resolution to play at, and figuring out the directory for the app to locate the game.

A note to make: I'm using the GoG installation of Baldur's Gate for this.

The most important changes to make are as follows...


#Screen width
Width= x

#Screen height
Height= x


#Fullscreen [Boolean]
#Fullscreen=0 (add the number sign)

#CaseSensitive=0 (add the number sign)

This next step is where you enter in where your game directory is. Mine looks like this:

GamePath=/mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb
CD1= /mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb
CD2= /mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb
CD3= /mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb
CD4= /mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb
CD5= /mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb

The same for the game's cache...

CachePath= /mnt/sdcard/app-data/net.sourceforge.gemrb/Cache

u have explained this a bit better - any idea who i should do this for plansecape torment and icewind dale?? oh, and +rep. Do all the go in the gemrb folder or like gemrb/planescape torment etc?

Alright, so for your screen issues, you need to install the widescreen mod for Baldur's Gate. Make sure when installing the program you do two things:

1. Select the installation specifically for the GemRB.
2. Make sure when you enter in your screen's resolution, you calculate out enough space for your task bar on your device. My Xoom has a small task bar at the bottom that gets in the way of the Baldur's Gate GUI/HUD, so I have to take off around 50 pixels in order to get the screen synced up right.

Hi, I am not sure how should I understand the first part. What do you mean by "not the main Baldur's Gate file, but all the files in that file".
I experience a problem with GemRB because I can run it but nothings happen and in few secs the application closes (maybe crashes but no error message)
I tried to install BD1 on my Transformer 1.
I:
1) installed GemRB
2) installed BG 1 in PC
3) copied whole folder of BG 1 (and I mean copy folder in Total commander)
4) tried to edit lines you metioned

But I do something wrong I guess. I dont have SD card in my Transformer, I copied folder to SSD and as I said, gemrb runs but does nothing.

I mean exactly what I said. You copy all the files that are in the Baldur's Gate folder, not the Baldur's Gate folder itself.

I am sorry for being stupid but could you please tell me how to do that? Because I dont understand. I copied all files through total commander so I dont expect that any file should remain on my HDD.
