eh, i'd pass on this

there are a lot of reports of performance issues on any PC once population reaches a certain number. The number isn't even some kind of unimaginable population either its like 100,000 or 500,000 or something.

I can't get that high because I lose interest in building a city once I get a traffic problem. There are no freeways in the game. I don't want to build a city where the poor people don't get freeways.

I love the Sim City games so I thought this was a bargain when I saw it for $10 on Midweek Madness. I have 25 minutes played and I hate it. IT just feels like a generic Sim City rip off. I asked for my money back but aof course AS IS on all digital downloads. This is why I hate Digital Downloads. At least when you buy a crappy game from the store you can resell it, give it away, etc.

The game is a pretty shell of a real game.

Nuff said.

This might help some. I notice that after I have stayed in the game for 2 or 3 hours and have doubled or tripled my city size that everything starts to lag; very annoying.
My solution is to exit/save Cities XL 2012; exit Steam; re-boot my PC; and then start up, log on and re-enter the game again. Seems to help for me. This works on a lot of games for me.
Also, defrag hard disk regularly, and run a utilities program to scrub junk files too; like CCleaner from cnet (free).

Wait, 2012 STILL has the horrendous memory-leaks that turned me off from buying the 2011(?) version? Good lord, that sounds fantastic :'D
