Aion truly free on steam?

do you think when the truely free aion comes out that it will be on steam? cause that would be awsome!

more like freemium with a few restrictions without paying such as character slots, gears, and areas being restricted. Though this is just my guess.

Guess we'll find out in a few months, but if it's anything like LOTRO (an awesone game) or other f2p games, you'll have just enough to make it playable, but will be sorely tempted to buy ingame items to make it easier. Hopefully they will do it in the same way that turbine did LOTRO as this is a perfect model for a f2p game.

I don't think Aion truly free will be on Steam, since Lineage 2 and City of Heroes are not here either.

I'm curious on this too but I'm not sure if it will be on steam anymore. It would definitely be nice though.

No restrictions at all in NA version.

i guess not. Why? i bought the real version of aion on steam when it came out and steam has no support for it so..

Shows up on steam today as featured but if you click on it you just go back to the main list and nothing shows up if you search.

edit: I should say it shows up after you do a mmo search under genres.

F2P up and live for NA now. I just logged into my account I haven't touched since Jan 2011 and although I didn't have my characters, it let me log into the Siel server and choose my new class.

Really exciting stuff.

Also, there's a sticky on the main page of this forum for how to get the overlay to work, it is most relevant now as Steam no longer supports Aion AFAIK.

If you bought Aion via Steam, as I did, just relaunch it and it will patch to the Free 3.0 version. I've been playing o lot of it since it went free. the game is much improved. And I love the player housing. There's a no-hype overview of the update here: http://gameguide.na.aiononline.com/a...de+-+Ascension

Strange it doesn't mention the housing...

Housing wasn't mentioned because the auctions didn't start until today for anything outside of the free studio.

just found this. so maybe it will come to steam. I just started to play this game and can't even get the ingame-chat to work because of the gameforge launcher so I would be really happy if they release it on steam as free to play.

guys why is this NCsoft game being provided by gameforge in EU? probably to save ncsoft money but anyone know the exact reason?

so now, ncsoft or gameforge will put aion on steam? its complicated, my bet is its not comming.
