Controller Issues

Only had my xbox 360 controller for windows wired controller for 2 months.

trying to play deus ex human revolution with it, got it working but randomly in game it can sometimes become completely unresponsive or annoyingly press the trigger buttons i.e. get gun out and fire or take cover...without me pressing them.

Anyone else encountered this?

also got xbox accessories 1.2 downloaded and that seems to indicate no problem...

I would remove the driver, the wired versions shouldn't need it. If you have issues still, then it seems to be the controller itself is having sticky buttons and issues similar to that. I would look into using a PS3 controller and the PS3 driver, they are a bit better quality.

If you want the xbox, buy a new one, or open it up and clean it. Isopropyl alcohol 90% or higher.

Did you try calibrating it in the Windows configuration? Start Menu -> Games -> Tools -> Input Devices.

The triggers are a joystick axis, so maybe something got messed up. If that doesn't work, maybe try a different USB port if you haven't already.

That should tell you that PC requires a bit tighter control. Use something like the windows driver to ensure the buttons operate effectively and the sticks are centered. Should end up with something like this...

As I said, you shouldn't need a driver, the wired one is plug and play, remove the driver, then try it.
