*cough* Either way, while it's annoying (and unnerving when it happens) there's nothing else to do but wait. Hopefully they fix it soon. |

You can call it a glitch but I think it's mainly the younger members that easily accept that.I can't get rid of this thing and I think it's interesting that I haven't seen anyone from Steam/Valve appearing in any of these threads to clarify the issue. From now on I'm running Steam in offline mode. Most games don't update very often so if I can't play a few of them, small loss.

Besides, every half-baked politician and Nobel peace prize winner-wannabe throws it around like there's no tomorrow that the word has basically lost its meaning and can now be used for software malfunctions just as well.

...And it's fixed. Funny how worked up people can get over a bug.

For all those people who don't believe it's a glitch, have a quote from the other thread.

It's fixed you say? Then why can't I delete it from my library and atempting to play it results in "conversion failed (no subscription)"?
Not one of the outraged drama queens btw, just really want to play the demo. |

http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...8&postcount=23 It was a glitch. Stop acting so jaded, and drop the "oh, I'm older, so I'm not going to fall for the 'glitch' explanations, because I'm smarter than you young sheep" act. |

It was definitely a glitch. If you're interested in what actually happened, you can read an explanation (both technical, and simplified) here:

I still can't believe how ballistic people were about this. I mean, it's Rayman Origins. It's pretty great. You'd think there was some malevolent corporate executive forcing everyone's Steam client to purchase, download, and launch Dreamkiller or something.
It could've been a glitch that caused "Half-Life 3 Beta" to show up in your library, fully playable and everything, and you folks still would've acted like a bunch of... well, like a bunch of the sort of people who frequent SPUF. -_-; |

I've actually downloaded and INSTALLED the demo yesterday, so now it's in my computer.
The problem is that I cannot uninstall it now (not even through the control panel), because it disappeared from my list and also is not listed along with the other programs in the control panel. But the game IS there, because if I run the .exe the demo will launch and I'm able to play it. What the hell? How do I uninstall the demo? Congrats Valve, I'll think twice from now on before buying games from you. |
