(ROW)?

I saw on some games, in people's inventories, it had (ROW) next to their name, such as MW3.

What does that mean?

I believe it's the Russian version? I think, someone correct me here because in all honesty that's what I thought!

Apparently it stands for Rest of the World. It's meant to indicate which version of the game you own, or so the other thread believes.

I've noticed this when buying things as well, also with MW3, and I'm pretty sure with Killing Floor and Space Marine as well.

I'm in the USA, bought all of these in the USA. not sure why I'd get an international version.

I'm pretty sure certain titles are censored depending on where you live.

So, what, if I got the game that had the (ROW), I wouldn't be able to play it? it'd be in a different language, or censored? because I'm in the USA.

I would think that any US citizens should be fine. I think censorship is geared towards the likes of Germany. I could be wrong though.

If you gift OR trade for a game from another country the game will be modified on where you redeem it. So if you live in the US and redeemed a game bought from Russia(recieved from trade/gift) then the game will be modified and redeemed as the US version, so fully unlocked.

From what I understand, like in Germany, I believe some people from Germany have redeemed their games that were gifted and they were fully unlocked and not censored, but I could be wrong on this matter.

Row(rest of the world) = not region locked uncensored.
ru(something like that) = region locked to russia censored ect ect.

I think thats how it works.

I just activated Settlers 7 Gold Deluxe and Flatout Ultimate Carnage which were both (ROW) versions and they activated without a problem on Steam and on GFWL & Ubisoft as well. I was a bit leery but it didn't seem to impact the games in any way.

RoW is uncensored copies for the Rest of the World

ok what about modern warfare 2 and dead island cause i got both and they say NA meaning North America ?
