I have the same problem and no idea.
I have this problem in Day of Defeat Source too.
Maybe it is caused by my new graphics driver (I use nVidia GeForce 7800GS)
Do you have a nVidia graphics card too?

Maybe we should try some older graphics drivers.

I have the solution:
For me the problem was caused by my new graphics driver version 295.73.
I downloaded an older one with the version 258.96 from 2010 and now I can see the flashlight again.

Maybe you should try an older driver for your graphics card:

yeah, same issue with me. Ill try that download, and see what happens. and Ill do the verify cache thing and see what happens

EDIT: Verify cache did nothing, and ive got rid of all of the addons that i had after the time that it wasnt working, and it still does that. Ill re-add them back and try that link you posted.

Just did that thing yo said, and I have my flashlight back. I guess nvidia needs to fix it in there newest patch

I took a quick glance at the thread title and thought it said "Flesh Light Problem".

did the older drivers fix the problem? I'm having the same problem? I even went as far as formating the hard drive they were on and re-installing every source game.
I have a Nvidia 7950gx2. I'm using the something 301 drivers i think.
I'm going to try the older 270 drivers then maybe i'll slowly work my way up to see when it stops working.(if it works at all)

i have this VGA too, but im using an offboard. you may have a nvidia chipset too, so, when looking for drivers try "legacy".
