Thief 1&2 absolutely need the "Tomb Raider - Anniversary" treatment

Two brilliant games being sadly lost as time goes by. Less and less people remember it, even as a pre-curser to Skyrim, Splinter Cell, Hitman, Amnesia etc.

The original game still plays really well, but is more dated than a Spice Girls DVD

LGS went out of business right after T2 was released.

Eidos now own the rights and the Montreal Studio is working on 4. I doubt they will revist the originals.

I wish I could replay Thief 1 totally remastered game, but with ambient sounds and cutscenes unchanged. Why invent some new Thi4f that will be as bad as Thief 3 was, when there are awesome games already exist?
I think, we inventing the wheel here.

I definitely agree. Thief 1 & 2 are a couple of my all-time favorite games on the PC. They could certainly use the "anniversary" treatment.

However, if you just want to play the original games, going to http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031 will give you all the information you need to getting the classics working on your newer systems. I recently reinstalled Thief Gold on my Windows 7 x64 system. It runs flawlessly and I even installed a patch that updates the textures with higher-res ones.

If you don't have Thief 1 or 2 for whatever reason, you can pick them up at GOG.com for good prices.

I want to see completely new textures. A complete rebuild of the original game. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope some day you'll join us, and the world will live as one.

You can also find the 'thief Enhancement Pack' at TTLG.com

It is an upgrade for models, maybe textures too.

I wonder why no one has put the effort toward making the classic Tomb Raider games available digitally unless you guys can name a storefront that I don't know about.

Eidos Montreal is working closely with the fan community and they´ve said multiple times that they´re trying to get it as close as they can to part 1 and 2.

Also, I think that the steam-version of thief really needs some work. Valve is boasting about having the collection now on steam (which is pretty awesome), but except of making it run on win7, they did nothing

- no fullscreen mode
- no intro or cutscenes (which are an important part of the game and it´s style!)
- english version only

I mean, come on, what happened to your good work, Valve? Should we ignore your old games now and better visit gog.com if we want a good version of a classic?

I´m a little bit disappointed and confused that Valve isn´t interested in quality anymore

well, I still hope that there´s going to be a patch which fixes at least the cutscenes. If Valve is still as cool as it always was. :I
