Man!
I tried this game with the keybord and managed it to the second boss, but there was no way anymore for me, my fingers hurted so bad the unbelieve. I switched to my gamepad and everything was fine then, I beated the second boss after 3 trys. Gamepad = Best way to play this game. €: I use a Thrustmaster Dual Analog 3 Gamepad in this game, but I suggest an Xbox 360 gamepad (If you don´t own any other gamepads by now) because most of the games today ONLY run with a Xbox 360 gamepad. |

For me, I found it far easier with a gamepad than the keyboard. Of course, it is still a very difficult game.
As for gamepads, I have a love for the Cyborg Rumble Pad myself. It is larger than the default Xbox 360 controller, which are too small for me, and can be swapped between the Duel Shock and Xbox configurations through a removable module. |

I've aced the whole of the light world with keyboard at this point. Working on dark now. You definitely don't NEED a gamepad.

You dont need one. I will say that I played with K+M for the first few chapters, and then switched to gamepad and I was doing much better. I have a logitech F510 if you're curious.

The game is 100% digital (analog sticks still go full left or full right, like buttons and keys) so there's no difference other than pure personal preference.

My thumbs get more tired with the gamepad, because you have to shift full left or right with the sticks AND hit the other keys with your right thumb. The keyboard lets you just hit the keys, but however you hit them, it puts your fingers in a weird position. I like the gamepad, because overall it's overall more comfortable but it does put most of the work on your thumbs and give them a SERIOUS workout. Either way, look up stretches for your hands and thumbs before long sessions if you want to avoid hand issues. No kidding!

I've beaten the entire game using a keyboard. I mean, you're left "pinky" may hurt from holding Shift to run, but otherwise, I wouldn't have it any other way. I've tried using my Xbox 360 game pad, and it felt uncomfortable and unplayable for me, and after going back to my keyboard, I felt much better.

Different strokes. I normally prefer K+M, but I tend to use a gamepad for all games of this genre because it feels more comfortable to me.

A gamepad for this game is highly recommended, you can play with a keyboard as well
