I found a way to temporarily fix the model shader 3.0 error.
First, open your steam client and go to the CS:GO properties. http://i.imgur.com/9S73z.png Then, you're going to go to the beta tab and enroll in "Previous" http://i.imgur.com/Zjghg.png The game will have to update. That's normal. http://i.imgur.com/enUXm.png ENJOY!!! UPDATE: Through my testing, I was still unable to join a game. However, if you're absolutely desperate, you can play against a few bots. UPDATE 2: The usk beta has the same issue. So, the fact that the error is a software bug is proven. All we gotta do is wait for the next patch. Last edited by jettj12: 03-12-2012 at 08:38 AM. |

Nice work finding a workaround. EDIT: Well, sort of. Last edited by Cyrez44: 03-12-2012 at 07:19 AM. |

Won't this previous version be incompatible with the current one? If I'm not mistaken I've tried this and can't connect to any servers.

Yes, but I like to think this is for all the desperate people who had the same problem as I. You can still load a game with bots, so if you're absolutely desperate to get a feel for CS:GO, you can roll back to the previous version at the cost of no multiplayer until a working fix has been found.
