client download speed slow via http
clinet download the mod map under 10-20k/s when in game.
but direct download from browser over 500k!!!! any setting wrong?? thank you. |

No you're doing everything right. Valve has yet to fully enable the internet download in source. :-\

if http download slow,can i make clinet direct download on my game server??and will it faster?? one more question do the http file need follow the path?? when game server is map/abc.bsp ,sound/abc.wav do web base also need add the same path?? Last edited by ato: 03-09-2005 at 12:33 AM. |

Yes. The web server needs to have the exact same map paths.
For example: sv_downloadurl http://someserver.com/cssmaps In your web server's cssmaps location, you should have the same structure as your css server's config. /webserverdocroot/cssmaps/maps /webserverdocroot/cssmaps/materials /webserverdocroot/cssmaps/sounds As for speed, my setup is working great. |

Oh yea and what do you mean by not fully enabled? What is the difference in source and 1.6? I went and got hosting, thinking I could do this. Had I known I couldn't, I might not of even rented the server, definately not for three months.
