Level 25 help

I want as FEW spoilers as possible.

I am deep into the level now, controlling one of the 500 core energy asteroids, the ones that advance the story after they are captured, and I thought I was in good shape. However I was constantly attacked and am now left with just 2 asteroids. I sent out probes to all the asteroids I can reach (I am missing 4 or 5) and I see red asteroids EVERYWHERE!

At the beginning I was told to "defeat the greys" Well, are there greys to be found or do I need to capture all the asteroids like on most other levels?

Nevermind, I just beat the level.
