Valve ffs stop updating at prime hours!!!!!!

would you bloody idiots use your head and update your damn games at 2 - 3 am central or something

your stupid update in the middle of my game caused my sound to ♥♥♥♥ up, I restarted and then the damn update hit causing steam to crash on me and now none of the three updates are actually downloading and im stuck waiting for them to kick in

so seriously for the love of mother♥♥♥♥ing god DO NOT UPDATE ON PRIME HOURS DURING A WEEKDAY OR WEEK END, DO IT AT 3AM IN THE MORINING ON A TUESDAY WHEN NO ONE IS ON FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DAMN ♥♥♥♥ING GOD SO WE DONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS ♥♥♥♥

I dont give a ♥♥♥♥ing damn if the game is up to date or not I Just want to play my ♥♥♥♥ing game in peace!

Steam is worldwide. US, Europe, Asia, it's always prime hours for someone.

Contrary to popular belief, there are other timezones in the world that aren't US timezones. Extrapolate from this and you can assume that there are countries that use these excess timezones.

Steam is a worldwide service and is therefore bound by the laws of time and space. Meaning that regardless of when they update, its going to be prime time. Business hours for Valve are on the US timezones, as a result, they update during their work day.

As others have said, Steam is international. Why not take a look at the download regions list for a helpful hint?

lol do you guys REALLY think there is only 1 steam server?

they dont have to do down time on all of them at the same time... they can do it when its 3am for every server timezones...

But what if I'm playing on a NSW server and it hits 3AM and I get the update, then I go to play on a SA server and it is 2:30AM and I can't play because I've got the update but they don't? It would be too messy.

Because you can't have servers running with different versions. That causes a while host of problems.
