I've been trying to purchase the Hitman deal all day long and I always get the message:

"There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance."

Why am I getting this? I really don't want to miss out on the deal.

Have you tried purchasing it from the Steam website?

Try making your purchase directly from the Steam Powered website, and not from within the Steam client.

If the error still occurs, it's likely an issue with the Steam network itself. If this is the case, it's advised to wait thirty or more minutes before trying your transaction again.

It seems to happen only when I try to use my Steam Wallet, but on both the client and web browser page.

If I select some other payment option I am able to fill in info.

Same problem here, trying to pay with steam wallet.
i've tried around 10 times since the Hitman deal started, client and browser.

It still isn't working.

It works if I use my credit card, so apparently the problem is limited to steam wallet. However, I would much rather use my steam wallet and not my credit card.

Does support ever allow you to purchase at the sale price if you were unable to buy during the sale due to a technical issue with billing?

Rofl, I tried using my steam wallet before typing the above post and it failed.

Then right after I posted that post, it finally worked.

I guess they finally resolved the problem with steam wallet.
