I just bought Guardian of Light or whatever because it has co-op. Should I be looking into buying Tomb Raider Underworld as well?

Since its your first TR, Anniversary should be your first then Legend and then Underworld, since they're all so cheap you should get all 3
, but play them in that order.

Anniversary for sure! I think it is better than TR1 (since it is an enhanced remake of 1)

Anniversary is probably the best in the whole series (even when considering the old ones). Basically it's a remake of TR1, but not just a remake (they called it a re-imaging).
It was done incredibly well and captured the exact feel of a TR game. Legend doesn't feel like a TR game, since it's filled with action and you don't get that sense of loneliness. It's a decent enough game though. Underworld is kind of a merge between Legend and Anniversary. Can't say it came out very good, but I guess it's ok. There are parts when it feels right and parts when it feels wrong. Kind of a hit and miss. And it also concludes the story arc: Anniversary-Legend-Underworld. |

They all have demos, try them. GoL is nothing like the others (hence no "Tomb Raider" in the title). I passed on Legend because of incomplete gamepad support (can't map the triggers, just the bumpers on my 360 controller), and lack of 16:10 support. Anniversary, released after Legend, has full proper gamepad support and 16:10.

Of course Underworld is a continuation of the Legend story, so I recommend both of those. Anniversary is pretty awesome as well. Hell, it's hard not to recommend a tomb raider game other than angel of darkness.

Just played it, all the buttons on the 360 controller work including vibrations in GoL. I also just bought all the games. less than 20 bucks for the Tomb Raider games on Steam is pretty good |

The demo wasn't, but they usually aren't. Ugh, now I might have to get it. Wish I would have checked this yesterday. I don't mind the resolution support so much, I can play 4:3. I just can't play with distorted images or at a non-native resolution that results in a blurry image. |

Anniversary is great, i completed the Original Tomb Raider 1 and 2,tho, i do wish they added more scenes between levels as it can be confusing, i went from France to Egypt and didn't even know, great game, cant believe how easy i am finding it though, except for the Centuars, they dont feck about!
Game-play is spot on and great to watch, really entertaining, you may not like this game if your one of those that likes to be rewarded like mad, the real reward is in beating the puzzles, you get extras that a tomb raider old-schooler likes but not sure how you would like them. Buy it and enjoy. |
