SupCom 2 Update stuck at 97%

I recently bought a hard copy of SupCom 2 and installed it to my laptop. After installing it it immediately launched an update. For nearly 2 days now it stops at 97% downloaded (2,137.6MB of 2,172.0MB) I have tried a number of suggestions from other threads like changing the download region, connection speed, pausing and resuming, rebooting may laptop and checking cache integrity but nothing has worked. Can anyone offer any advice, please?

put steam in offline mode
Reboot run steam change to online mode
reboot and see if it downloads again

If that doesn't work then you'll probably have to try deleting local content and reinstalling the game from scratch.
As supcom 2 has had quite a few updates now, you may find it quicker to install directly from steam without using the disk. This means you won't have to do the updates as well as the install.

Baldrickk, thanks for the advice. I was afraid I might have to do that. The worst thing is i have a limited download allowance and the 4 or 5 gig download is way beyond that. Thanks anyhow.
