I can take most of your arguments for the Heavy being balanced and apply them to all of the other classes.

Those are not good arguments, and that is not good balance.

That is exactly how I feel when I get on server and the teams are running several heavy-medic. For me, they suck all the fun out of the game, whether you play as a heavy or against one.

That's funny, as long as I've been on spuf, I've seen topics about Heavy being "overpowered".

This isn't anything 'new', particularly not "3-4 months ago". Many people like to attribute it to the Uber Update (and therefore the old argument that people only think Heavy is OP because they're F2P), but even that's wrong. There's been complaints since the 119th update (albeit harder to find pre Xmas 2010 because most complaints were about Natascha specifically). Since the spinup buff, there's been a pretty consistent userbase commenting on the Heavy being OP, only getting bigger with ridiculous upgrades the Heavy gets (GRU, FoS, Tomislav...) to the point we're at today where it's practically understood among SPUF that the Heavy is OP - whether because of unlocks or the 119th update or both.

Heck, you can even go to the last few pages of the Heavy subforum here, if you can manage to separate general "Heavy is OP" stuff from "Natascha is OP" threads.

When people say heavy is OP, they rarely ever mean vanilla. And heavy with unlocks is easily OP. Old Natasha was the most OP and unfun thing in the game, it still would be if brought back.

The 119th screwed with everything cause we wanted spin DOWN buffed, but valve derped and gave us faster spin UP, so an un needed buff.

To everyone saying heavy is op :

If you play offensively as a heavy with no pet medic, you're gonna see why heavy isn't OP.

Heavies that people consider OP :
-Heavy/medic combos. Yeah, 2 players are tought to kill when you're just 1 player.
-Heavies who play defensively. Protip : All classes are better in defense, it's just easier. Given equal skill, a defensive player should destroy an offensive player.
-Heavies who camp health packs. That's a mix of 'heavy/medic combo', somehow, the heavy's main strenght is his health pool, and if he stands on a health pack, it's even larger. And also a bix of "defensive", because he stays there at all time.

Just try it once, seriously. Play heavy on a team with no medic/few medics ( none of them who heals you 24/7, which is very rare in pub games where all medics are in love with heavies ), and a standard class balance on the ennemy team ( i.e. 14 spamming demos/soldiers and 5 snipers ).

You'll see that heavy isn't that OP when he lose half his health pool every ing time he turns around a corner, due to spam.

So you'll either :
a) try to get a medic
or
b) stop attacking. Just play defensively.

An heavy who push forward without a pet medic is one of the easiest target to take down, if you can't take him down, you're doing something wrong.

I play Heavy without Medic all the time. As long as you're smart enough to not overextend, you come out on top in pretty much every battle, unless you're overwhelmed.

Consider, that not everybody complaining has no clue what they´re talking about.

No doubt.
Pocketed players are harsh, regardless of the class, and taking them on alone is in most cases a plain stupid decision.

I think you are overgeneralizing here.
Sure, a defensive player only has to react to what the attackers do, while they have to do both, acting and reacting, but class matchups still do pretty much weigh quite a bit more than that.

Also, what do you consider "defensive"?
Campers?
A camping Heavy on his own, or even a Dispensersitter is nothing a competent player has nightmares about to be honest.

That´s not considered overpowered, that´s considered stupid.

Very standard team class balance indeed.

Protip: If you see rockets, nades or arrows being spammed around a corner, don´t go there unprepared.

How to go around a suspicious corner:

Step 1: peek.
Look around the corner to make sure you are not rushin into an enemy horde head first.
If you see too many bad guys loitering there to deal with on your own, abort, wait for backup, wait for your foes to make the first move and shreddify them as they try to do so, or find an alternative route.
If not, proceed to step 2.

Step 2: cornerrvjump.
Jump around the corner and rev your main weapon while mid air.

Step 3: shreddify everything in sight.
Place your crosshair on enemy targets and hold down the fire button until they dissapear.

a) try to get a medic

c) think about what you did wrong and not do it again in the same manner.

Have you heard of the DL challenge?

Not overpowered, but there are some people who think he's underpowered.
