So, some games allow DX10 cards to run under DX11 mode. Does LA Noire allow this? Or should I continue to run in DX9 mode?

To run in DirectX 11 you'll need a DirectX 11 card, as you only have a DirectX 10 card you'll have to continue playing in DirectX 9 mode.

Okay. I thought so, but just thought I'd ask since, like I said, some games do allow you to run DX10 cards under DX11 mode. Thanks for your time!

DirectX 11 has feature levels for hardware. Civilization V was able to support DX10.x cards through the DX11 this way. I don't know if this game supports a fallback to other feature levels.

No LANoire only allows DX9 or DX11, so if u do not have DX11 GPU, then u must use DX9.
TBO it's not a big deal with this game, as u can barely (if at all) tell the differences between the two modes, given that this is a console port game. So if you DX11 GPU, then run that unless u have issues or it's slow, then try DX9 mode otherwise. But overall u won't see much if any visual improvement between the two modes in this game. |

Its been a little while since I played, and it may have changed but ...
DX9 actually seemed to run slightly smoother for me. May just be as I percieved it at the time, but there really wasnt any difference. Its also capped at 30FPS. So, no DX11 is not really a issue with this game. You will not miss anything. Im running a OCd 2700K CPU and a SC GTX570, so Im fairly certain its not a matter of the PC being unable to run it well under DX11, just a matter of the game not really being properly coded for it. |
