Followers 50 +
Looking at some of the followers stats it seems only a few will cap to 50. Does this mean there is no need for them after this level or that you shouldn't need one. I sometimes use one just for company.
I was under the impression you can quest until lvl 80, if this is true what follower would you use as a lvl 50 would be pointless. |

OK for a pack mule, just tell them to stay put so they don't get killed?

I have tried with Lydia but if a fight or danger breaks out she runs off and fights even if I have told her to stay put.

There is a mod that will allow followers to level all the way to 80, I think I saw on nexus but maybe here. They will also level with you. Without a mod they are stuck at the same level you meet them at unless you console in level commands in case you didn't know.

The highest level enemy in the game is 50, followers level up to the same level as the strongest thing.
The last 30 levels don't actually make the enemies stronger, and thus you wouldnt need your followers to get better also. Furthermore at level 50 your follows have most of their primary skills at 100 and secondary skills in the 70+ range so they are pretty beasty at 50. |

(setlevel A B C D) sets NPC level
You must have clicked on the npc while in the command console and be sure the ID you see is the npc and not an object. If you input (setlevel 1000 0 1 100) that npc will be equal level you are and will level with you up to level 100 and will start at level 1 if you're level 1. Variable Description A Level of npc compared to player where 1000=100% B Levels above or below variable A (50 will set npc 50 levels above variable A)set 0 to be equal to A. this value is redundant but must be set. While you're in the console, set your follower to "essential."
That way, they can't die, just go down on a knee. |

yes in vanilla skyrim followers stop leveling with you after level 50, but also enemies, so your followers are not being single shot down even if you are at level 81.
There mods that makes followers level up to lvl 81, but you are not seeing differences since they primary skill are the same (capped at 100 at level 50). A more interesting mod is one that makes enemies level up to lvl 81 scaling with you, actually giving you a reason to keep a follofer aside of roleplayng reasons. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...ails/?id=11389 |
