So, where do you think the CS:S maps are located?

Well, I'm doing a project in G-Mod involving the CS:S maps, and I wanted to ask you, the CS:S community, where do you think they're located. Of course, in some maps it's obvious, like Italy (Italy, duh!), and Dust (Middle East). Anyway, I'd like to receive suggestions as to where the other maps might be located. Also, I'd really appreciate if you suggested more than one location for each map, and, if possible, in different countries.

I'll make a list with the included maps/locations suggested, and the number of how many times it has been suggested. Remember, you can still suggest a different location for each map!

Dust is probably in the Middle-East, maybe Israël or Afghanistan.
Assault is in the USA or near City 17.

Well, I could say that Dust is in Israel and Dust2 in Afghanistan, or vice-versa.

By the way, you hit the nail in the head with cs_assault (at least that's the place I thought for it; and my project is related to Half-Life).

Now, I had some places ideas:

• Nuke could be in Spain, because it looks similar to this plant.
• Chateau could be in France (it's a chateau, after all).
• Tides would be in Germany, since there are some signs written in German.
• And Prodigy would be in Russia; I don't know, it kinda looks like an old Soviet Bunker.

What do you think?

They took photos and based some of the major 'landmarks' of the map on it.

Valve then decided it would be better to move it from it's original location to Scotland. That's where dragons live for the Americans See previous posts of mine...

And yes, I'm being facetious for those that don't get across the 'pond' homour.

It's just that I wanted to have varied locations for each map. Now that I take a look at it, I believe it could be place in South America as well, since there were catholic missions here as well. Like in the north of Argentina, which has a "similar" enviroment, or the north of Chile as well.

It's in California, the evidence is there and probably the best you'll get for any map.
OK it looks like it may be S. America, Africa, some Asian country that the Christians invaded. Could be Scotland or in Paris Disneyland. Any map could be anywhere.
Why exactly are you trying to guess where the maps are?

I'm not really trying to guess, I just want a different location for each map, it's for a little project I'm doing on G-Mod, based on the Half-Life saga. I wanted to use the maps to represent different countries from the world after the Black Mesa Incident but before the Combine Invasion (I'm not sure if you're familiar with the HL storyline), so that's why I wanted a different country for each map. I already use USA for assault, so I was thinking of using inferno for another country (and judging by the flora, it could be located in South America as well, not in Africa).
