Issue with X-Tension

I bought the superbox today, and the game just plain doesn't launch. It reaches the loading screen and derp, stops working. I've tried checking/unchecking every box to no avail.

I'm using Windows 7.

Does Beyond the Frontier run? They are the same engine. If it doesnt run either its probably a codec issue. If it does run then check file integrity via Steam for Xtension.

Beyond the Frontier works, so I did a file integrity check and it says the files are valid, but the game still doesn't work.

I installed 2.2 patch from egosoft homepage and now it works, just download it and install to steam - steamapps - common - x-tension folder.

I had the same problem; found that if I dropped my desktop resolution down from 2560x1600 the game would start and then I could get in game and set the options properly. DX6-era games cannot support any resolution higher than 2048.

If course, if your monitor doesn't do that resolution then your problem lies elsewhere.
