Will I lose my account?

So back in 2011 I bought for myself and some friends a few games. I got The Haunted 4 pack, Commander Keen pack, MW3 for me and a friend. Then my credit card got stolen or cloned and I had to cancel it.

After that I asked for a chargeback for all transactions made that month and steam games were on it. Now I will have to ask for my credit card company to remove this chargeback but, as I read on forum topics, I will lose my account?

Is this right? I've been a customer to steam for years now and I just can't stand to lose all my games just like that...

I know doing a chargeback for anything is not recommended as you can get your account suspended until it's resolved.

Contact steam support and explain the situation to them, I am curious though, it's now April 2012 yet you said this happened in 2011, why have you not asked or contacted support sooner?

Your account might get temporarily suspended, but you will not lose your account.

I did not contat them before because I had no "need" to. No games I would like to buy showed up and I was busy with work and stuff so I had no need to remove it before.

I've sent two tickets in the past week and none of them have been answered yet.

You should only send one ticket. I suggest closing one. It usually takes 2-4 days for a response, just be patient and they will get back to you.

Also this happened on December 2011 so I want this warning lifted now since I have some free time on my hands.

To be honest. Maybe you should have told your bank from what point legit purchases stopped? Now you have to bother the bank for a second time *and* Steam, just because you blanket chargebacked the whole month?

You won't lose the account but you will need to prove ownership on it as it will be suspended.

Refer to the article here but you need either

1) credit card used on the account
2) cd-key of a registered game
3) paypal transaction ID

What about a CD game of a steam game? Like when you click with the right button and get the CD Key, will that work?

You will have to pay for all the games you bought and then charged back before they will restore the account to you. It's fraud to do a charge back. As long as Steam gets paid though they will give the account back eventually unless you have a history of doing this type thing. Don't expect them to be quick about it though.

Well they removed the games I asked the chargeback for so do I still need to pay for them?

I think this will happen to your steam account.
