Server list bugged?

I just freshly installed CS 1.6 on steam and when I try to connect to almost any open server it brings me to a different server than the one I picked. It's really bugging me and it makes no sense.

probably 90 percent of previous threads are about the same thing. its not just you, happens to everyone. the steam server browser doesnt work any more.

this is the way i see it: why would they fix it when it makes them $0 and just makes it better for you to not buy CSGO?

This happens to everyone.

as far as I can tell CS 1.6 is unplayable anymore. I'd recommend they take it out of the store

It's sad, Valve has a reputation for listening to the community but when there's nothing to gain here they look the other way. Counter Strike is what made them really popular, they should take more care of it.

^ agreed but hopefully something gets done at least a nice update on all halflife 1 engine to make the server brower work for all games at least

This has been going on for a while now. Valve has yet to fix it.

There's a rumor it's fixed in some sort of beta, but I don't know if we'll ever get it. Use external server browsers for now. The quake 3 master server died a few months ago, but external server browsers work fine.

Use this site to find servers, its nearly cleand off fake servers, so you will avoid servers that sends you to another (unless the server is full and running xredirect)

valve please fix this. it is more important than CSGO and im not being sarcastic. it shows a complete lack of respect for us as players and proves you want the $$$$

I brought this up in the "suggestions" part of the steam forums. It pretty much got ignored or people told me to stop DLing porn/scripts......

I mean this is an actual issue that needs fixing and nobody cares.

and if gametracker can filter out the crap then so can valve. It's complete crap that this issue has been going on for a year with no fix

I personally don't have this issue and I know plenty of people who also don't. I've always chalked it up to user ignorance as well.
