GG1 Bonus Scenario
In this scenario, which I've tried 6 times, at some point along the track. There are no red or amber warning signals, and its never in the same place.
But I always encounter a second loco on the same line of track ahead of me, usually on a curve, usually when I am doing 70 - 90 mph. I've slowed down and looked for points to change, but I can't find any. Even if I slow down, at the point where I last 'hit' the other AI loco. Allowing it to run ahead of me. I at some point meet up with it again, and the same thing happens. |

Bugged Scenario & NEC add-on.
This scenario is seriously bugged, as is the NEC add-on. The signal system just doesn't work. As indicated in the previous post, you can pass a red signal (I have SPAD enabled) without penalty, and sooner or later you will be on the tail of another train. Also, every time I save the scenario at speed, it instantly derails upon reload. Finally, the yard switching at the end is impossible. I keep getting messages that the tasks are done when they are not and then end up with a failed attempt.
As far as the NEC add-on, in addition to the dysfuntional signal system, there appears to be no advance warning of a restriction when changing tracks. So, you might be sailing along at over 100 mph and get hit in the face with a 45 mph restriction and hope you can slow down fast enough. My last comment is that the timed scenarios are completely unrealistic. The speed limits in the add-on are a bit lower than real life, and the target completion times are faster than the Amtrak timetable. So, to win the scenario, if you can win at all, you must accelerate and decelerate as quickly as possible and travel at maximum speed. I have lost many of these scenarios by mere seconds. The purpose behind a "simulation" is to simulate real life. If I want an excercise in dexterity, I'll play a PS3 game. Last edited by CruzJohnM: 05-10-2012 at 11:55 AM. Reason: spelling |

Love this loco but the cab is scarily claustrophobic.
Real spam can. If only the Horseshoe curve was electrified......(bugger authenticity I just want somewhere scenically interesting where I can run it - Carstairs? )One or two good vids on Youtube though. |

Maybe so, but it vastly improves the view. :-)
