How do you use health packs ?

For some reason I cant usethe health pack. What am I doing wrong ? I click on it in inventory then click on my character and nothing happens. Got me stumped. Otherwise it's been a cool little game.

You are doing it right, but...
medkit in the hand of Mike doesnt heal, it just cure bleeding..
but on the hand of the Professor Harper, it will cure bleeding and recover hit points..
