Mac OS X compatibility issue

I'm very excited to play this game, but when I try to open it, I get an error message stating that Wizorb cannot be used with this version of Mac OS X.

I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 (Leopard) which isn't by any means ancient. Is there anything beyond upgrading my OS that I can do.

I also have Windows XP running through Bootcamp, but I get another strange error message that immediately closes the game.

While logged into Windows, upon trying to play I get this message from Steam:

Preparing first time setup...
Installing xnafx40_redist.msi (step 1 of 1)

Followed by a Windows box reading:

Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft XNA Framework Redistribution 4.0

All of this happens in the span of 2 seconds and then disappears and nothing else happens. I'm not very familiar with Windows, so maybe it's a really simple problem...
