Hi all, I'm having an issue with the game currently; please see below for more information and I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter.
I recently purchased an XFX Radeon HD6870 and a Corsair GS700 700 Watt PSU and installed them on my system. I upgraded from a 550W PSU and a Radeon X1950 Pro. I also have a fresh install of Windows 7, fully updated, with an Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad CPU. I bought "The Polynomial" when it was on Steam sale because I thought it looked awesome, and boy was I right ![]() Now that I have an awesome GFX card, I've tried playing the game however I get a strange screen tearing issue during play. It primarily happens when I'm shooting an alien and the rainbow effects spiral out. A video of the issue can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viqwblgEgDI As you can see at the end, this game is barely even heating up my graphics card. It is doubly strange because it doesn't happen in any of my other games; in fact I ran FurMARK and did a GPU burn-in, got my GPU up to 85°C for 5 minutes with no crashing or any tearing at all...does anyone know what could be causing this? It's ruining my game experience! I have tried enabling and disabling VSync and Trilinear filtering, no combination of the two resolves the issue. I've also done my best to mess around with the video settings in-game to see if something might be causing it, but I haven't been able to nail anything down. Perhaps it's a combination of multiple settings? Has anyone seen this issue? Last edited by firestarsolo: 04-12-2012 at 06:43 PM. |

That's you getting killed (you are a robotic spaceship getting cooked alive after all). Too scary effect, wasn't great idea because looks too natural and makes people think their pc really IS cooking alive. If you press esc you can see that it is only the in-game graphics that are distorting like this.

Thanks, Dmytry; great game - the visuals are awesome and I love to just sit back and play it.
Is there a way to turn that scrambler off? |

You're welcome! Turn off fancy death effects in visuals.
