Might do this, Loved this game but the community sucks now, not that it will be much better in the Mod but anything is better than hackers.

Any confirmation that you cant get VAC banned for using it?

The devs say you can't because the only interaction you have with Steam is to verify that you own the game, but to be safe, I copied my MW2 out of the Steam folders into it's own folder to play this.

It works

You get console, not sure if you get full commands, didn't bother to check them all

It requires you to have a legit version of MW2 to play

It has dedicated servers, on the list it shows the ping and where the server is located

Servers are only moderated by admins

Anti-cheat currently isn't implemented but will be implemented later on

You can't be vac-banned for using this because it doesn't connect with steam

You can transfer your current rank/level/weapon loadout from your current mw2 to this one, so you don't lose anything



Simply put, get it, bring friends, and if you can host servers than do it

I still have 3 questions if you wouldn't mind answering them though.


1) Is there any kind of ETA on the anti cheat. Until they are able to implement an anti cheat it's not worth bothering imo because it'll be flooded with cheaters.
2) What's the population like? Are there many people playing it or is it dead with just half a dozen servers populated?
3) Does the server browser have filters to make searching easier, or is it like aIW where you just get one gigantic list with no idea which servers are HC and which are not?

1. spec ops maps/singleplayer maps in it
2. mw3 gametypes in it like kill confirmed
3. dedicated servers
4. anti cheat (better then VAC)
5. mods are allowed
6. cod4 weapons in it: Dragunov, Remington 700, M60E4, AK-47 M40A3 and more not sure all from cod4
7. you can change ur ingame menu to cod4 with file

friends system will be added maybe

first have original mw2
go to their forum
register
download files place them in your mw2 folder
launch iw4m and login with ur forum account

1. I've ran into 0 cheaters.
2. It needs more people! Especially in the USA.
3. Yes it has filters.

does it allow VAC-banned players to play? AIW does. having a legit copy of the game still includes VAC bans.

opening yourself up to more cheaters if you allow VAC banned players. though not connecting to steam/VAC, i dont know how you could block them.

It does NOT allow VAC banned players. Or cracked versions.

As we cannot verify which game you were banned from, this status is irrelevant.

as for the crached version there is a way to play with them if u are smart enough....

yeah seriously, how does it KNOW if it doesnt even connect to steam? let alone know which game you are banned from.

Actually, if you are VAC banned, you can still play on IW4M. It only checks to see if you own MW2 via the Steam API.
