Gothic 3 Squares for Text Problem

Does anybody else have a problem with Gothic 3 and the text in-game? For some reason, all the text I see in game, numbers and letters and all, look like squares, with matching capital squares and lower-case squares (ie. big and small). I tried replacing the font with another one and verified the integrity of the files, nothing's worked so far.

However, the text on the main menu is just fine, for some reason. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I'm pretty sure it's not the font file that's the problem. Tried a clean re-install with no results as well.

Example screenshot below.

Nobody has any ideas on this? I want to play Gothic 3, but if I can't read anything it's gonna be a little bit more difficult to do so =( I was looking forward to this, but so far, this is a disappointing start.

Dang, I can't figure this out, and nobody seems to know what's going wrong, so I guess I'll give up on playing Gothic 3. Kind of sucks, but oh well.

No, I know I'm not missing the font file. I did say I replaced it already in my first post after all, but thanks for responding =) I watched the video to double check I got what you were saying, and it's the same thing I did before.

I'm still hoping I can figure out what's going wrong with the text, I was really looking forward to playing Gothic 3, but it's a little difficult when I can't read anything.

No, I've got it on default settings.

I don't really think it's a problem with the font file, there must be something else happening causing the text to show up like this.

Edit: Tried to do a clean re-install after uninstalling it, still no change.
