NW brings nothing new
This feels like a step down from Dangerous Waters (2005). And in DW you would at least learn something about tactics by entering the ships and choppers (submarine speed, cavitation, active vs passive sonar etc.). In that respect I'd say Naval War must be even more confusing for a beginner if you aren't familiar with how the different vessels work.
Even regarding graphics DW looks better, and navigating the UI is much more comfortable. The music in Naval War is annoying, but both these points is a question of personal preference. There's no point arguing that NW isn't supposed to be a simulator. DW had both the tactical and sim part seamlessly integrated and still is much better than this seven year younger counterpart. I'd advise you to try the demo before buying. |

Why would they, it is similar to Harpoon. Although have to say its got to be better than any of the past naval games of which there haven't been any for years, can't say myself as I didnt buy any of those other games - far too lame in the graphics front. I am loving this game mind.
