Hi All,
Does anyone happen to know what the name of the song is and the artist of the song that plays in the STEAM video for for this sim? I have played and flown many sims but all because I was into the detail and realism. For the first time however, that song kicked in and I found myself wanting to either get into the nearest plane for a high speed low pass flight or jumping onto my my motorcycle for a high speed run on a nice curved road in my area... either with this song playing and at full volume! And of course I am downloading this sim figuring with music like that, it cannot be half bad! :-) So anyone know the song? Malakie |

already asked and answered in this thread
http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2638615 And yes Flight isn't that bad,its not a super hard core sim but if you just want to fly with out needing a real world pilot license first then MS flight is just the ticket. |

Too expensive, too frustrating, too condescending. If I wanted an experience like FSX, I'd go get a pilot's license.
I think the most ironic part is you're doing something for free that normal people call a job and get paid to do daily, and you're suggesting that we go pay our own money to do actual work. |

Hint: If it weren't for people trying new things with the flight sim genre, there simply wouldn't be a market for flight simulation anymore. It's been a long time since it was part of the gaming mainstream. |

It's like Flight Simulator, except with fun! I had FS9 (2004:ACOF) in the fancy metal case and everything. I enjoyed opening the metal box, I enjoyed looking at all the planes and their cockpits (ahem, never mind, that's a different thread), I enjoyed setting up my time of day and weather conditions, and I enjoyed taking off and flying for a couple of minutes. Then I'd exit and go do something else. I dunno. Just kind of dull. And before you dismiss me as a tyro - I played the first flight simulator. I'm a 30-year gaming veteran, not some tween-age console kiddie. They're not the only ones who are looking for an "approachable" game, you know. Some of us old farts are, too. I don't want a game / sim that will just wear me out and bore me to tears. This one is actually fun. I have a fancy MS Force Feedback joystick sitting on my desk, covered in dust, and I haven't even plugged it in yet to play Flight. The mouse works well enough that I don't have to. I'll get around to using the stick eventually, but I like that I don't have to. Look, the bottom line is that a lot of people are really enjoying this game, and that's all that really needs to be said about whether it's "good" or not. That's all games are supposed to be: fun. If a "hard core" flight simulator is more fun for you, there are plenty of them out there. Tried Rise of Flight yet? You can't even take off without adjusting your mixture first. How hard core is that? It's free to play, too. And it has TrackIR support, woohoo! There's nothing wrong with being a hard core sim fan, nor is there anything wrong with liking a more casual game and playing for fun. That's all I'm trying to say. Group hug? lol. |

![]() Less than 30 $ for FSX Gold Edition, that includes the Deluxe edition and the Acceleration pack: - Whole world - more than 20000 airports - more than 20 different aircraft - Air Traffic Control, AI planes and other vehicles - More than 50 missions - Flight school by Ron Machado and a lot of learning material If FSX is expensive how do you consider the Flight DLC for arriving to a similar level of content (if ever)? A few people have reported spending $1000 to $2000 on FSX. It's not expensive to start playing, but it's expensive if you get into it. Scenery packs can cost $30 and up for one small geographic region, airplanes can cost $30 or more apiece, and then there are all kinds of weather packs, AI traffic bundles, air traffic control add-ons, mission add-ons... not to mention the thousands of dollars you COULD spend on a custom hardware setup. Panels, panels, panels...
Flight is going to be the same, of course, except that all of the content will be from Microsoft, rather than all kinds of 3rd party companies. We're already being offered an island for $20 and planes at $15 a pop... think what the whole Earth will cost once it's all done... With either game, you can spend as much as you want. But you don't HAVE to. |

For that reason I did not understand the sentence reporting that FSX is expensive. Furthermore FSX has also a lot of freeware content (aircraft, scenery, missions and so on), while Flight will not, if MS will maintain the SDK secret. I hope people, also casual gamers, will understand the meaning and the consequences of the new business model, because from this will depend the future of this hobby. D. |

I think that a lot of folks here would make good politicians - never answer the question that is asked but always talk about your agenda however far from the question it might be. The question here was about some music related to Flight - the answers so far have been along the well worn track of FSX is better (or not). ![]() I wish I knew the answer Malakie but I am sorry that I have no idea.... ![]() Maybe we should ask the mods for a sub forum where we can genuinely discuss the merits of Flight in relation to other sims. Personally I would have no problem with that since I am very aware that other sims have advantages over Flight in some respects. They have disadvantages too of course.
