DS1 Chapter 9 Error.

well idk whats happening but after defeating the boss he starts to die and then explodes right after that there is some sound effect and i get kicked inmediately out to the start menu, has someone experienced the same error?, any recomendation what i could do?

Just got the same thing. Actually did a save mid battle and get the same thing like 5 times. Any answers around this error?

I have the same problem. Kill the boss, and get immediately kicked out to the main menu. Doesn't matter how far back I load a saved game from, as soon as the boss dies, I get kicked out to the menu.

This is not very satisfying way to end the game -- I say "End the Game" because you can't continue playing... Very Frustrating.

Gotta say this basically ruins the game...

I don't understand why the entire ending had to be removed for multiplayer reasons. DS is of no threat to DS3 on steam because they are sold together.

The ending already isn't amazing but at least it gives some closure.

I was playing single player when it happened to me.

Yeah it happens SP because the ending links into multiplayer (Which has been removed)

From what I've read, the ending was apparently REMOVED from the Steam version of the game. Based on problems I had with crashes throughout my playthrough of the game, I thought it was a crash error or a bug, but it's apparently not. It's ridiculous, and I was extremely angry because I had spent about 100 hours on it according to Steam (a lot of that was spent dealing with crashes and recreating my progress when the game refused to save). Why they couldn't just redo the ending and then have it take you back to the title screen is beyond me, but I'll know never to play through it again; it's not worth it for that letdown.

you got both games for free... as I recall there isn't much of an ending in the original version too.

I still had the CDs, but I think I had difficulties running it on win7 or some sort.
