Steam crashed when playing TF2.

I just had an odd crash. I was playing TF2, then it freezes and I get a popup saying "Steam has quit unexpectedly." I had to force quit TF2 (hl2_osx). I relaunched Steam and verified my TF2 cache. Everything seems to be running fine. Here is the crash log if anyone is interested.

This might be a dumb question, but could this cause a VAC ban, because I was connected to a server when Steam crashed? (I know, I'm paranoid.)

No need to be paranoid - you aren't risking a VAC ban just because the game crashed.

Trust me, there would be a LOT of people with VAC bans if that were the case.

TF2 didn't crash, Steam did while TF2 was still running, causing TF2 to freeze.

After thinking about it for a little bit, I'm not to worried. It was just odd.

There should be little to be worried about. It's VERY unlikely it will happen again and it will have no bad consequences.

Likely contender:
Code:
Thread 46:: CacheOneFileFixedBlock::WorkThreadProc
0   libsteam.dylib                      0x08a5e806 __gnu_cxx::hashtable<std::pair<long const, Handle_t*>, long, __gnu_cxx::hash<long>, std::_Select1st<std::pair<long const, Handle_t*> >, std::equal_to<long>, std::allocator<Handle_t*> >::find(long const&) + 40
1   libsteam.dylib                      0x08a57edf WaitForEvent(void*, unsigned int) + 111
2   libsteam.dylib                      0x08a60a0f CAsyncIOManager::WaitForCompletion(unsigned int) + 281
3   libsteam.dylib                      0x08a5c54d WaitForMultipleObjectsEx(unsigned int, void* const*, int, unsigned int, int) + 1115
4   libsteam.dylib                      0x08a5c698 WaitForSingleObjectEx(void*, unsigned int, int) + 53
5   libsteam.dylib                      0x0898d797 Grid::CCacheOneFileFixedBlock::CImpl::WorkThreadProc(void*) + 599
6   libsteam.dylib                      0x08a56bb7 _threadEntry(void*) + 142
7   libsystem_c.dylib                   0x93f06ed9 _pthread_start + 335
8   libsystem_c.dylib                   0x93f0a6de thread_start + 34
Pretty sure I've had that crash before.

You may want to file a Support ticket, or post in the TF2 forums... It's unlikely you'll get too much help here.

I'm pretty sure this is the same issue that I posted a fix for on a few different threads. It's a memory leak on the Store page that causes the crash. If you load the Store page once then even if you go to another page it'll still crash.

Follow these instructions:

I've always had Steam open to my library instead of the store. But on the bright side, I haven't had this crash in about a month now.
