Steam crashed when playing TF2.
I just had an odd crash. I was playing TF2, then it freezes and I get a popup saying "Steam has quit unexpectedly." I had to force quit TF2 (hl2_osx). I relaunched Steam and verified my TF2 cache. Everything seems to be running fine. Here is the crash log if anyone is interested.
http://pastebin.com/uvrBFWmf This might be a dumb question, but could this cause a VAC ban, because I was connected to a server when Steam crashed? (I know, I'm paranoid.) Last edited by ron1n: 04-16-2012 at 03:40 AM. Reason: Typo. |

No need to be paranoid - you aren't risking a VAC ban just because the game crashed.
Trust me, there would be a LOT of people with VAC bans if that were the case.

There should be little to be worried about. It's VERY unlikely it will happen again and it will have no bad consequences.

You may want to file a Support ticket, or post in the TF2 forums... It's unlikely you'll get too much help here.

I'm pretty sure this is the same issue that I posted a fix for on a few different threads. It's a memory leak on the Store page that causes the crash. If you load the Store page once then even if you go to another page it'll still crash.
Follow these instructions: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...88&postcount=9 |
