Vampire.exe has stopped working.

I've been trying very hard to get this game to work, so if anyone could help me I would be a very happy person.

The error of course is just the grey loading screen then black then pops up the "vampire.exe has stopped working."

And I've done various methods. I've tried patching it and that didn't work. I'm running it on Windows XP and if anyone has any sort of information or very helpful stuff, that would be wonderful.

Has the game worked before?
Are you running XP on 64 or 32 bit? If 64, the game is not compatible with it.

You might like to try running it in XP's compatibility mode.

Redpug, are you using XP 32bit or 64bit? As Quolli pointed out, if you are using 64bit you are going to run into problems, because Bloodlines is not compatible with 64bit OS's.

Which patch are you trying to use? There are 2 different popular fan made patches, the True Patch Gold Edition and the Unofficial Patch 7.9 (I think that is the last version). It would help to know both answers, that way we can help you out.

I don't know about XP 64bit, but Bloodlines runs without any problems on Windows 7 64bit for me!

Because you wrote: "Bloodlines is not compatible with 64bit OS's." No talk of XP there! I just wanted to make clear that Bloodlines has no problems with ALL 64bis OS's...

Sorry for the late response.

Okay, the game should work without to much trouble, if you are using the vanilla version, even with Steam. The game is very buggy though.

It would help if we new what patch you are using, that way those who are familiar with that patch can help you out.

None of you actually answered the question...

I'm running it on Vista 32-bit, just vanilla, and it's giving me that same error message. Any ideas?

Yeah, get the patch and check stickied threads, one of the solutions might fix your problem getting it to run. Cheers!
