New install for the game. Obvious steam issue

This was my first valve game ever played. Never revisited till today downloading. Thankfully I registered the game with valve when I bought it. I can't get past the first taser baton by the police force. Wasnt I suppose to faint and go into story mode. Instead I keep getting knocked back into 10 feet away.. Help me if I am crazy, just trying to revisit the story

You... need to run AWAY from him.

You do get attacked and knocked out *after* running over the rooftops.

Also, there's no such thing as "story mode" you will basically be unable to move for what, 5 seconds... >_> I know when I was getting my beatdown by that guy I ran like hell.

That reminds me of First Hour playthrough on 29th minute - why run while you don't have a health indicator on? ;D
