Gunsmoke drops FPS

I played day1 for a few weeks and I never had any FPS issues. I just recently tried out CSGO again and this time around, I'm getting huge FPS drops (80>10) when I shoot. It seems that I'm getting this drop in FPS when the gunsmoke is on screen.

Any ideas?

This was a decent update as it fixed the lag when I shoot. But it did NOT fix the lag when others shoot.

Post PC specs so I can see them and update drivers if you have not done so.

Lol the gun smoke reminds me of a clint eastwood movie. I can picture him standing there saying "Do you feel lucky punk?" as the smoke leaves my deagle barrel.

On a lighter note it's just another useless variable Valve has thrown into the game to try and be different. It's really unnecessary.

Not a problem with my rig, I can tell you that right now. I have great FPS when I'm standing around. Right as even one person shootings, say an AK, I drop down to 20-30. While 20-30FPS is not bad, it makes it hard to aim when you're at 80FPS then all of a sudden you are at 30 and it goes back forth between those to frames.

But just for kicks I guess:

E7200
4gigs
HD4870
Win7x64
Drivers up to date

There is something CPU related with go that is VERY inconsistant.

i5 2390T
ASUS P8P67
HD4850 (685 core, 1000 mem)
8GB 1333 ram
Windows 7 Home prem 64 bit

Gets 75 flat (Vsync) and NEVER drops in gameplay. I think HPE needs to look into something related to CPU cache. I notice people with CPU's with no L3 cache having problems with source engine games since the new engine update.

How do you know its the smoke from the gun that is causing this issue? Have you tried playing in offline game? Also check console for errors.

People need to realise, 4000 - 5000 series cards (except the 5990) can't play modern games well, Has anyone who has a 6000 - 7000 series AMD had these problems?

while it may not be the smoke from the guns, it's definitely some particle effect when one shoots their gun

I beg to differ. I've played crysis2 (with respectable settings), arkham asylum, d3, gw2, me3, many more with almost no problems.
