FM12 Wont Launch after Update

After today's update, I have been unable to start Football Manger 12?

Is there a fix or is somebody able to point me in the right direction?

Pointing you to the right direction: provide more details, "unable to start" is not a specific error.

I'm a mac user, don't know for you?

The game seems to be launching (my name in my friends list appear green, and then turn blue). The small window saying "launching Football Manager 2012" with the little cancel button appears for less than a second and then close down automatically, as it launches the game theorically, but no, it doesnt open the game.

I am also a mac user. I get Launching Game box, but nothing after that. The game was fine until today's update, then will not launch??

I had a quick look at the official forums and it seems it is a Steam problem with the Mac update.

"Hi everyone, sorry for the problem you’re encountering with running FM via Steam on the Mac, we are currently still waiting for a response for Valve in regards to this issue.

However, we are aware of a short-term fix which will allow you to play the game until the problem is properly resolved.

First uninstall Steam (keep the game files when prompted), then reinstall Steam but do not apply the latest update – it will ask you to restart following reinstall – do not allow it to restart at this point.

Install Football Manager 2012 – it will automatically be at the latest version and will allow you to load up the game and play it normally.

Do not worry about losing your Football Manager saves when uninstalling Steam, they are saved in a different location and will not be touched.

Apologies to any of you that have encountered this issue, as stated before we are attempting to contact Valve to get this resolved as soon as possible."

I am working on this now. I have found and fixed a problem that impacted 2011 and 2012, and am looking deeper at 2012.

Once I have a fix, I will push an update straight out.

no necesary uninstall, just download client steam and install it, when it ask for replace, click yes.

I ama Pc user and have the same Problem. when i start game it says that its running but not apearing on my screen i have email steam support 3 times and i have tried all the aolutions none of which have worked. I have Reinstalled steam about 10 times and FM2012 the same and still the same problems. Any help would be much Apreciated

I'd suggest posting on this SI Forums for help, if you post in the technical issues forum here - http://community.sigames.com/forumdi...es-and-Crashes then they'll get back to you.

I'd also suggest posting a dxdiag (details here - http://community.sigames.com/showthr...=1#post7184733) and letting us know if you have any anti-virus or spyware scanning software installed. Thanks.
