Thunder Mountain Appreciation Day

Well, today is Fenway Park's 100th anniversary, and also...uh...well, you know.

...so why not also take a few minutes today to appreciate one of the best TF2 maps out there?

Thunder Mountain is a great map. On all three stages, the high skyboxes and tons of alternate routes from the payload make it complex and entertaining. As a Trolldier, I highly appreciate the high skyboxes, being able to jump from, say, the BLU spawn at stage 1 to 1st point, and smacking someone with a crit MG to the face. Even better is the 3rd stage, all compacted into a small square, with two outside regions through which to push the cart. All classes, even the weak, terrible, overplayed, and generally despised Sniper, can find their place on this stage of the map among its high altitudes and open space. Metal and health packs are abundant on all three stages, and there are plenty of niches and hidden spots for Engineers to set up shop, whether RED or BLU.

If you've never played a round of Thunder Mountain before, rev up that TF2, find a valve server or other server running this awesome map, and have at it.

...and Thunder Mountaineers of the Community, REJOICE!

Thunder Mountain is my least favourite map in the entire game.

Thundermountain is one of my favorite maps, in theme and design. Stage 3 gets a bit off-the-wall, but it's got an intesting track path to keep the cart moving in such a small area.

I like both Thunder mountain and Upward, but no one wants to vote for them.
Then we end up on gold rush with people complaining "Why the hell are we on Gold Rush?! There a already a 24/7server with it on!" :/

I loves me some Thunder Mountain even though I don't get to play on it as often as I'd prefer. I find it to be a fun map for Soldier, and I play a lot of Soldier... fun places to jump to and good route options usually.

Also... Carl Yastrzemski. Grew up watching him play and when he retired I completely lost interest in MLB.

I love the map, it's always a blast to play.

I'm always shocked by the creativity of the people who play it, finding electrifying new ways to flank and surprise the enemy team.

Thunder Mountain is great. The alternate routes and overall openness of the map makes the gameplay a whole lot more interesting than spammy maps like Goldrush.
