Artillery accuracy
I do not mean to spam random threads, but the search function only returned threads from other games...
What effect has artillery accuracy? Given that the art units to not have a direct line of sight. Is the red circle smaller in diameter or does better accuracy only apply when the units can see the enemy (or a recon unit has a lock on and can give feedback)? |

If you have line of sight to the target area from any other your units, your arty shell radius shrinks down dramatically. You know when this happens when you see the words "corrected shot" when mousing over the target region.

The accuracy applies to corrected and uncorrected shot, it will make the red circle smaller in any case.
Mortars are special as their red circle is smaller by default. |

Mortars are accurate all the time.
Artillery is highly affected by accuracy. This is both the corrected, and not corrected. However as a very experienced Wargamer I do NOT recommend shooting without having a Corrected Shot applied. The DANA or the AMX both have 10 accuracy and are considered the better artillery. The french AMX is the best artillery for NATO, you could use the Paladin should you prefer a lower price for less efficiency. The WP has tons of artillery to choose from. A higher HE power means the explosions are bigger, and they'll therefore hit more (And deal more damage upon impact), while the actual accuracy may be worse. It's a matter of preference, the WP has so many different artillery, you pick the one you prefer, not the best (Where on NATO, it's easy to tell which is better) To sum up. Yes, accuracy has a large effect. Veterancy increases accuracy, in case you feel the accuracy is too low on your choice of artillery (When choosing Arty, remember to look at Rates of Fire, as that has a very huge effect on how fast it shoots) |
