Dont have much to add, seems like you have all the necessary requirements. I just thought with some of the problems I had like this a reboot took care of it. The only other thing I can think of is its trying to get through your firewall but cant. So its just sitting there stuck. Did you try ALT TAB out to see if you had a message box underneath that states this? Thats all I have at the moment.

Just in regard to your laptop I might know of a possible problem solver. This is just a copy of my post to someone else similar problem:
I had in the beginning trouble with my laptop too. The game ran fine on my desktop though. So after a little investigation, I found the problem to be my Nvidia with Optimus. Now I don't know if your laptop has an Nvidia card with Optimus, but if it has, it might be that your Optimus does not automatically change to the dedicated graphics card and instead uses the integrated graphics chip to run the game. That is what happen to me and caused the game constantly to crash or not boot at all. To fix it I had to go into the Nvidia Control Panel and under 3d settings select in prefered graphics processor: "High performance Nvidia graphics processor" Hope that helps. |

This happened to me before, just exit steam and open it again, also check the task manager processes and make sure Steam.exe is completely closed.
