Fighters skills
Is armor skill important for every fighter so they can absorb more damage?

I've never spent a single point in that skill for any of my characters, since I like to spend my points on a single weapon skill instead (sword, axe or mace).
My characters usually survive pretty well either way, and protection doesn't seem to help that much. How you choose to spend your skill points is up to you though, I just prefer to focus on skills that helps increase the damage my characters deal (the same goes for rogues and mages). The only thing that I see important in armor skill is light/heavy armor proficiency so you don't get that -X evade chance for using it.

I'd get at least one fighter up to Heavy Armour skill so you can take advantage of some of the decent armour you'll find. At least two of the achievements demand you wear full suits of armour, and you might as well wear it if you have to collect it. As DIENER pointed out, you pay a penalty with minus evasion points if you don armour you're not skilled enough to wear.

well I was going to makeone warrior of mine very tankish with just weapon and armor skill. However, I wasn't sure about my mino warrior though. So far I just have him with aweapon skill. Wasn't sure if i should put some in armor too or what.

The beauty of these games is there's no right or wrong way of doing things. I've gotten my fighters up to around 30-ish skill on swords and axes, so they can use special weapons found in the game. But there are powerful maces I can't use, so... Don't sweat it. Just keep killing enemies and gathering XP.

^ Yeah, what he said. I would add that it does pay to specialise when it comes to character development. You could also try different builds on across different playthroughs and see what works best for you.

IMO the game is too short to take advantage of the skill system as it is. You will barely get half way through a few skills. My mage went high enough in each skill to get the first spell, high enough in spellcraft to get darkness, then all ice. I was expecting to at least get 40 or so points in ice.
If the game was about twice as long it would be a bit better scaled. Need those user made maps asap. |

So far I honestly think the best warrior build I've used personally is just a full Lurker gear warrior with all of his points dumped into Unarmed Combat.
It was absurd, he just destroyed everything, including the Fighter's Challenge. Nearly soloed it. |

Evasion is much more useful than armor. And yeah, unarmed is completely broken.
