The error isn't on my end, but whenever I try to play multiplayer with a friend of mine, the game refuses to register his clicks. This happens when I host the game, and when he hosts the game. We've tried playing four times now, and it keeps happening.
I've played the game with other people, and it works fine (this same problem happens once in a while, but rarely, and it quickly passes). It's just this one person who can't play at all. We can't figure this out. Help? |

Most likely problem, he needs to forward his ports. Could also be firewall blocking it, or antivirus intereference.
Less likely, modem/router incompatibility with this game on his end. That's very rare though. |

Should I provide more information? The game starts fine. We can get our duels set up. It's once the game actually starts that it stops registering his clicks.

"his click" = "his right mouse clicks" ?
if yes, then that's his problem. Better run the game on a mac. |

You should both have the game open before sending a invite, reacting to a invite with the game closed can cause that problem

He says that he did not right-click at all. And he already had the game open when I sent the invite.
So neither of those is the problem. |

I've seen a few players have this problem, when I join a 2HG match. Sometimes they will join together (with host, private slot, and two public). When play starts, they leave. One guy apologized before leaving, because his friend couldn't interact with the game screen (not sure why he apologized for something out of his control, but it was nice hehe).
Trouble is, with the nature of this issue I haven't been able to discern why it happens. They leave and try to fix it, never to be heard from again. Make sure your friend plays the game in windowed mode to have vsync on (since there is no fps cap, the game goes crazy on a video card in fullscreen). Also, and probably more applicable, he could change his steam download region setting. Duels 2012 is very finnicky with the netcode and logic, to the point where when something is broken it often just forgets what it was doing. Changing that setting (where you connect to on http://store.steampowered.com/stats/content/ ) could perhaps bypass a bug where some critical data is lost. It's in the steam settings on the client. I mention this, because the developers for Trine 2 (a company with flawless customer support) helped me connect to multiplayer in their multi-platform game through such an avenue in Steam. Hope this works for ya! |
