FPS Drops without any reason :(

Heyho
I bought COD MW2 yesterday, and its such a nice game, but I´m having FPS drops for 5-10seconds for about every 2minutes, even in the mainmenue... It is very annoying and its really hard to get killstreaks with these "laggs".
Does anyone know what I can do?
I updated my Graphiccard yesterday , so this cant be the problem.
Here are some information:
Specs:
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz (8cpus), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 8GB
GraphicCard: AMD Radeon HD 6850

I hope that somebody can help me , because I ve been searching on the web for the same problem for about 5hours and I really havent found anything.

Greets
Jix

Do u have heat problems with ur pc?

If no, then i got nothing.
If not sure, use some programs to check them.. speedfan, afterburner for example..

Does it happen in other games?

That is a pretty nice PC you have. It shouldn't have any issues running games and least of all MW2! Make sure your drivers are up to date, remove the OC on the CPU and see what happens. Update everything from drivers to chipset drivers.

Hey
First of all thanks for the fast answers ^.^
I dont have any problems in other games, BF3 and MW3 are working without any problems on the highest graphicsettings.
My drivers are up to date and I dont have any heat problems
And, how do I remove the oc from the cpu?
Ive never done that xD

Sorry my bad your CPU is not overclocked! Try to disable hyperthreading in the bios, this may help if not then just enable it again.

Hey guys, its fixed!
Thanks to all of you ^^
"Some" was right, I had to verify my game cache and doing some other stuff, here is the solution for other people who have the same problem xD

Go to :

C:|Program Files|Steam|SteamApps|common|call of duty modern warfare 2|zone|english

Delete: mp_afghan_load.ff, mp_afghan.ff files or all the map .ff files (back those up)

Go to steam
Right click on MW2
Click Properties
Click Local Files Tab
Verify Integrity of Game Cache

And it'll redownload those files.

After doing that it isnt dropping the FPS anymore^^

Thx again guys
